Trina and Gabe met about one and one-half years ago (1996) by accident. Trina was looking forward to graduating from University and travelling to Europe. She had just been introduced to IRC (internet chat) by her friend Gabe at University. One evening after her last exam she was on IRC and was notified that her friend Gabe was also on IRC. She said hello and began to ask questions. After awhile, she realized that the answers were not making sense. She did a "whois" and found out that she was talking to a different Gabe. They were both having fun and had a lot in common. They could not get off of IRC. They found out that they both grew up not far from each other. They thought that their parents knew each other. Trina even contacted Gabe via e-mail while on her trip to Europe. After 4 months of communication via IRC and telephone, they agreed to meet as friends. Gabe came to Trina's parents place. He met the whole family that day!! They went out for dinner and later to a drive-in movie in Owen Sound. The date went very well and Gabe promised to come by and see Trina the next day before he went home to Brampton. From then on they continued to date. Trina moved in with Gabe after finding a job in Mississauga. Marriage plans came quite quickly soon after. On January 15th, 1997 they were engaged to be married. Gabe took Trina to their favourite Greek restaurant. He was very nervous and could not eat. Before dinner came he bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She proudly said "yes". Then there were lots of wedding plans to be made!!
